What is a reasonable pay for someone to do our SEO? I see some people take a couple hundred usd, some 1000 usd and some more than 3000 usd per month. Will the service provided for 3000usd be worth it compared to 1000usd?

The real decision is who you choose, not how much you pay. Any good SEO will do the same things for you, and you’re just paying to increase the amount of hours they spend doing your tasks.

Example: my clients that pay me $500/month get the same high quality work from me as the ones paying $5000/month. The ones paying $5k just get 10x more hours out of me, and we may be done a lot sooner than my $500/month client.

It’s entirely dependent on your exact situation, your timeline and your budget.

My suggestion: do not work with someone who has a “system” they try to put you in. Find someone who actually understands SEO inside and out, and creates a custom plan for your business. Many of those that sell a “package” are just outsourcing their work to someone else for a cheaper “package”.

Any questions, I’m an open book!

The cost of SEO varies based on your needs:

A couple hundred USD: Basic services.

    $1000 USD: Comprehensive SEO.

More than $3000 USD: Premium services for high competition.

Choose based on your business goals and competition. Higher budgets often yield better results. Review specific services in each proposal for the best fit.

Higher budgets mean more money for content and links. More fuel for the fire.

Every job is different. Building the gap analysis I to understand what each job will take and give you a relative time line to meet the needs of the gap will give you an idea of what needs to be done monthly to set a retainer. Just saying you need x dollars to do work is where good intensions in SEO turn into inability to deliver results.

Understand your hourly rate for you to survive and profit, the apply that to the time and expense needs. That is the cost of an SEO project.

As an SEO service provider, we have clients who pay as little as $500/month, and we have clients who pay a few thousand dollars per month.

We don’t have a strongly worded contract or a 12-month lock-in holding them. Our clients are free to leave anytime with 1-3 month notice.

All of them are happy to keep paying us. They all get value from their investment.

The cost of SEO depends on your niche and what your website requires. If you have a website in a highly competitive niche, it requires lots of work to keep up with competition. Small city local businesses generally don’t need such heavy lifting. If your business needs just local seo for maps, it can be done for a few hundred dollars.

At the end, it’s your niche and the state of your online presence that determines the work required, and, thus, the investment in SEO.

So, you have to stop thinking in terms of the cost alone. You need to look at the value proposition. How does the SEO investment drive your business growth and revenue.

Edit: To suggest on the amount of work and cost, one needs to know the niche and the website. Hourly rates don’t always work. Sometimes you need more than just labor 🙂

    Definitely not.

    Here’s some tips.

If they charge under 500$ a month they’re scamming.

If they don’t provide you with a list of links built each month they’re scamming.

Use a freelancer you find on LinkedIn. If you use UpWork or Fiverr you’ll get shit quality regardless of reviews and ratings.

Don’t use an agency. They’ll charge you way more than a freelancer and make someone less qualified do the work.

Freelancers will be from 500$ to 1k$ but you’ll also need a monthly link building budget.

Low budget = Long time frame
High budget = Short time frame

Above forumla applicable for SEO services provider not for scammer 😉 :D.
