I am unable to add my website in the “Search Console” section, it appears my websites is not indexed, I just checked google after setting the basics up and I can find it using **site:mywebsite.com,** what could be the issue? thank you

site: doesn’t mean your site is indexed, just shows you what URLs Google sees on your domain.
If you go into GSC > pages that will let you know if you have any URLs indexed or not, and if not the reasons why.

You should check the source code and look for noindex tag: <meta name=”robots” content=”noindex”>
If it’s present, you should remove it. If you don’t find the noindex tag, check your Google Search Console property for errors.
