Raising Awareness&Helping on IG – How?
Hi all,
I have a pet account on IG, about 4k followers (mostly other pet accounts). I have high engagement, quite a few loyal followers who comment. Sure, there are the usual things (doesn’t grow though I only post high-quality reels/pics, no sponsorships so far etc)
But that’s not the major issue. The problem is that every now and then I post stories to raise awareness about real animal welfare cases: shelters in desperate situation that don’t have food anymore or rescue teams that went to conflict zones and struggle to feed, treat and take care of animals.
I mean 100% reputable charities, people just struggling to save abandoned, sick, injured animals and often just asking for pet food. The stories are viewed by around 20-40 people.
But people don’t share! They view it, ‘’like’’ it, maybe send an emoji and that’s it. Though I specifically ask them to share, they don’t even take a second to do that&spread the word to help animals! Perhaps someone else can see their story and help. Perhaps their followers keep sharing.
Maybe my followers can’t donate for medical treatments of injured/sick animals or send food. Maybe they don’t even have a single dollar to give. (I doubt no one can, but ok).
But why can’t they share? It makes no sense! Seeing a very desperate situation and not taking 2 seconds to do the smallest thing to help for FREE – it’s just baffling and it makes me resent them!
It’s not spammy, this is not the only type of stories. So it’s not constant asking for help.
Is there anything to do to make people share? I really just wanna help animals in need as much as possible!
