Basically client has a new website for his b2b startup. He is cold calling clients and was thinking what if they look the company up on google and if there was a way his site would show up on google if the exact name was looked up.
I know seo is a long process. But is there a chance that something like this would happen quickly?

Any suggestion on what I could tell him?

It’s one of the first things that happens when your site gets indexed on google. I’d say maybe a month or so before you can do that if you publish your site today. Maybe sooner?

If you launch a new website which hasn’t been indexed yet, and customers type in the exactly URL the site will come up. It’s just if they search for it it may not show up, depending if there are relevant keywords in the meta description and content. There should be so it can show up.

It depends on how unique the business name is. It’s something that could take a day or two to rank for if it is pretty unique.

If it is somewhat common like “Best Tree Trimmers”, it could take a lot longer. Maybe even never happen depending on the quality of SEO work being put into it.

Make sure to get them on Google Search Console and submit your site index

Run some Google Ads with his name as an exact match keyword and bid for top of page. You don’t have to spend a lot because unless the client is really well known only a few people will search for their business name.
