is it worthwhile to watch a course on seo no matter if it is a few years old or is it better to watch more current courses. Do you think it affects much the performance of what I can learn?

I always recommend the SEO book, SEO Secrets by Danny Dover. I read it back in 2012. That book really helped me grasp technical SEO and how bots crawl webpages. Sometimes books our courses that are years old hold a tremendous amount of value

If it’s a foundational course an older course is fine. If it’s a course on user signals manipulation you probably want something newer.

I recommend gaining a thorough understanding of how search engines operate, starting with fundamental concepts such as website structure, crawling, data indexing, and categorization. Familiarize yourself with the progression from data collection to the creation of a data bank, and then delve into the intricacies of Google algorithms and the Search Engine Results Pages (SERP). To build a strong foundation, begin by exploring the core algorithms and gradually advance from there.

While the fundamental principles of SEO have remained consistent over the years, it’s crucial to ensure that your learning resources cover the latest algorithm updates and industry trends. Google’s algorithms undergo continuous evolution, emphasizing the importance of staying informed about the most recent developments. Even though older courses can provide a solid groundwork in SEO basics, prioritizing access to up-to-date information will enable you to stay ahead of the dynamic landscape of search engine optimization

Why do you need courses? just use [Google.com](https://Google.com) or [youtube.com](https://youtube.com) and type in “understanding SEO for beginners” or a similar keyword and see what kind of results you get. Whatever you do, don’t pay any money, even if it’s just $1 for any of these SEO courses, if you can’t figure out how to get the information you need on your own, you’re not going to get very far in this field.
