Please Decipher My Google YouTube Ad Results

Posted by i-eat-pants-all-day on November 29, 2023 at 10:57 pm

I’ve purchased a course whose main tactic is promoting offers through YouTube ads. They have KPIs they recommend you try to hit in order to succeed. I’ve hit those KPIs with 3 different campaigns, each resulting in no sales (spent about ~$120 each). Each of my 3 campaigns got similar results. I’m trying to find out what I’m doing wrong. I’ll share the course’s recommended KPIs and the results I got from my latest campaign. Any help or suggestions would be great. I’m just a regular person trying to quit my construction job because I’m only 25 and my body shouldn’t feel like it’s already 60 years old.

**KPIs the Course Recommends For a Successful Ad:**
    – CPC: <$1.25
    – Video Ad CTR: >2%
    – Landing Page CTR: >50%
    – Video View Rate: >20%

    **Metrics/KPIs/Campaign Results:**
    – Cost: $113.94
    – Video Ad CTR: 2.24%
    – Avg. CPC: $0.10
    – Landing Page CTR: 55%
    – View Rate: 24.92%
    – Clicks: 1,198

    **Other Campaign Information:**
    – Location: All Countries
    – Interest: None
    – Language: English
    – Budget: $50/Day
    – Bidding: Target CPA ($180)

KPI’s are great – especially when you are learning a new platform and/or marketing. But, just meeting them doesn’t guarantee a customer.

There is so much that could be the problem
    1) People aren’t aware of your company so they are hesitant to buy
    2) Your product isn’t unique so they are shopping around
    3) Pricing
    4) Messaging is off or misleading.

Why YouTube ads? Why not Google search, Display or Meta?

If I understand your settings correctly , you basically targeted all English speakers in the world, regardless of interest and also have a very small budget for an upper funnel campaign like YouTube.

Expecting to see immediate sales with those settings + a slim budget for YouTube is… optimistic.

You need to target relevant audiences. No idea what you’re selling or what this course tought you,
But YouTube isn’t the best channel for direct sales , you can’t expect loads of sales from it

like what are you trying to sell here? youtube ads are very specific, so while yes you are reaching your targets, you might be attracting a lot of duds or the wrong target audience.

Your budget is too low for your target cpa, to start. Youre telling the system you want leads for $180 but you’re giving it $50.

Why do you have 3 video campaigns? Why not use search? Leads should be far cheaper on search. No one goes to YouTube with the thought of completing a lead form.

Target US only to start like the course suggests
