I joined this group around a year ago and managed to grow my website’s traffic from 0 to 1000 monthly clicks, now I’m wondering how do I take things to the next level?

I’ve learned quite a bit from personal experiences shared by people in this group so I’m shamelessly asking for more.

What had the largest impact in scaling your first website’s traffic from SERPs?

Consistency. For the first two years, you mainly publish good content on a daily/weekly basis. In between, update older content and interlink them. In a competitive market, add links to articles that need a boost.

Content. I didn’t do link building to my site, but only wrote pieces with terms that people search for. I only did 1-2 blogs a month for my site too.

Since you’re getting the usual bullshit good content answers, here you go:

Take your keyword research seriously. Now matter how well you feel you know your niche, do not just wing it. **Go with the data**

    – Creating evergreen content that earns links and has constant demand.
    – Repeatedly going viral within my target audience and creating a following.

    1. Being involved in the communities for that subject
    2. Creating a useful interactive tool that would come in handy for them

I’m kind of struggling to focus on a specific niche. I’m writing posts about various tech stuff, is that going to be challenging to rank highly if Google isn’t seeing my site as a specific topic ?

Evergreen content + optimizing the website in terms of performance/accessibility/rwd.
