    Overlapping Google Ads

Posted by 3CAPPY on May 29, 2024 at 1:48 am

I have a campaign running about 3,500 a month to our 14 service area/cities. If I wanted to (just for one month) double this number should I create a new campaign for maybe just a few target overlapping cities? Would double the budget for one month mess up the algo? Let me know what you would do. Home service ads, $30-60 cpc

Personally, I would have a campaign for each city. So in your case 14. You can do this fairly easily by duplicating them, then updating the targeting, and landing pages/copy as necessary. This will give you maximum control as also the ability to segment budget by location.

What is the current status of this campaign?

If it well optimized and limited by budget then you just need to start increasing gradually the budget, no need to change the TCPA.

If you are going to do something, don’t just do it for one month. Don’t make new campaigns that only last one month. You would be better off giving top cities one campaign or give each of the top 3 cities their own campaigns if the cities are large enough.

e,.g. you are targeting Houston, Chicago,..ect. Keep Houston, Chicago in the current campaign where the data exists for them. Most the smaller cities into their own new campaign.

What you do depends on the cities and will they collect enough conversion data to warrant their own campaign. If the cities are too small they likely would be better off consolidated.
