    Hi everyone!

I’m newer to SEO, and someone at work asked me whether we should write a bunch of blogs and try to bring as much traffic as possible to the site, or focus on keywords/topics that don’t bring as much traffic but could potentially convert into more leads.

They mentioned a new update from Google a few months ago that said they prefer better quality content and I think that would lean towards better keywords instead of more traffic.

The other argument someone brought up is bringing all that traffic to our site will increase our domain authority with Google since they would be keywords that relate to our niche.

Are either of these correct or would neither or these matter in terms of SEO?

    Thanks!!

    Those arguments are correct.

You see SEO allows you to establish online credibility and to build authority in your respective niche.

However, for SEO to work for your brand you need to conduct a comprehensive keyword research and work on ranking for keywords that are relevant to your services or products.

In my opinion I would go the keyword route working in that to bring more leads later.

What’s stopping you from doing both?

You can work on the traffic thing now and work on the keywords for better future leads provided that you can do both at the same time.
