If you strategically split the SEO work between content & dev teams. And if you consider the volatility of search algorithms, isn't SEO a bullshit job?

P.S just an honest thought, been working in the industry for more than a decade now. Honest opinions would be highly appreciated! *interesting thought.

Google reacting to spammy techniques – and Spam JUST means repeating something at scale that someone who has to deal with doesn’t like doesn’t mean Google is changing.

    Take the “Algorithm leak”

As 100’s of SEOs I follow and chat to on X noted, that nothing has changed for the majority of us since this?

Ok, sandboxing was real – I honestly didn’t know that Google said it didn’t exist. I always just thought sandboxing existed because people didn’t know how to build links and I typically avoided it by just putting up a homepage and getting some rapid links regardless of authority value.

I keep get downvoted and attacked for this – but by a handful of people I could easily block – but SEO hasn’t fundamentally changed in 20 years for me. And everyone seems to give an emotional reaction like – you don’t know what SEO is, or you’re an clown. But Matt Cutts’ videos are all still live on the GSC YT channel. Why can’t people point at things and tell me – but you don’t do this anymore?

I still post blogs, do research for PR and engagement, I still do internal linking, I still build landing pages, I still do keyword research, I still post new content based on new search. I actually rarely refresh content because I know content doesn’t rank because its fresh. But go ahead and tell me this is wrong, I’m ok with that.

Since the mid 1998 when I started doing this, the field has always be “volatile” The search engines we make the system, we would game the system. They would make adjustments to end that and we would find the another way to make it happen and so on for 26 years. As they the close more loop hole and we find less loop holes, it has become more important to have a quality site that meets their conditions. The BS SEO of gaming the system is becoming obsolete but real SEO is still very important

SEO isn’t BS, but it’s evolving. Smart teams adapt to algorithm changes. It’s less about tricks and more about creating value for users. Still important, just different now. Splitting work can be effective if teams communicate well.
