My site is getting lots of spammy links from lots of websites that have 0 traffic. Do you think this will hurt the sites performance?

Like most people, I’ve experienced big traffic drops since the March update so trying to salvage what I can!

    Cheers

Yes, it will. Best to not approve those links. Allowing will decrease your domain authority.

Change your business model and direct more towards selling to people to increase brand search intent.

If you are referring to spammy backlinks appearing in Google Search Console, you can ignore them. We might not like its algo updates, but Google is pretty good at handling spam links. They usually disappear after a few weeks or months.

Just ignore. My website traffic is in millions and millions of backlinks including millions of spammy links. Just check console link data if you find any website spammy and don’t rely on third party tools like semrush, ahrefs as they have to run their shop.

Definitely! Use Google’s Disavow Tool to disassociate your site from those spammy backlinks. Regularly monitor your backlink profile with tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush to catch any new spammy links early.

Yes, spammy links can hurt your site’s performance. Google views low-quality, irrelevant links as negative signals, which can impact your rankings. This might be why you noticed a traffic drop since the March update.

To fix this, use tools like Google Search Console to identify and disavow spammy links. For example, if you find links from spammy websites, create a disavow file and submit it to Google. This tells Google to ignore these links when evaluating your site.

Regularly monitor your backlinks and focus on getting high-quality, relevant links to improve your site’s performance.
