My Instagram engagement just dipped after the first time one of my post blew up HELP PLEASE .
I have an art account with 1500 arounds following the usual engagement I was getting was 2-3k Impression with around 200-250 likes then my 2nd last post did exponentially good and got 10k impressions with 500+ likes now my latest post just dipped to 200 impression and only got 63 likes !
I thought the reverse would happen and I would finally start picking up but the opposite happen for some reason …. Help please
i can also provide the ss of my impression if needed

Depending on how often you post, I would guess that it may be to do with the fact that your viral post is taking up more real estate than others.
I have an inkling that as Instagram doesn’t want to overload people with the same account on the feed. As a result, a post doing really well from an account will get prioritized in reach over other posts. One post that goes viral in the morning will get seen by my followers, but as a result the next post may get smothered in favour of the more engaging content from earlier.
My suggestion: give any viral posts some breathing room. Unless you see a massive spike in followers, viral posts will only help your overall engagement incrementally. You’re only as good as your latest post.

It depends on the content of that post and also the timing of the post.
