Forums Forums White Hat SEO Multiple webpages including homepage suddenly got deindexed. When analysing website using semrush or other tools it is showing 403 forbidden but it is opening on all browsers. I cannot really understand what is the problem here. Kindly help.

    Yes it happened with my website …all the categories got deindexed..but then after indexing all the categories pages one by one .they are showing on google i mean they are indexed…i don’t know why it happened …i ve again validate them..lets see what happens next…

    So when you put the URL in GSC what does it actually tell you ?

    Check your htaccess file and robots.txt file for anything malicious. Also check header files in php that may be preventing bots from crawling the website. I recently worked on a site that only when the site was visited from a google search it would show a pharmaceutical site, but direct visits visits from bing etc.. loaded the website fine.

    Stating the obvious here just in case…have you verified that these pages are not returning the status code 403?

    You just state that they’re “opening”, but that doesn’t mean they’re not returning 403s.

    Could be your hosting provider made a change to restrict access to various bots without thinking through the consequences. Maybe contact them, and/or try using a chrome extension to change your user agent to googlebot
