Moving best performing keyword to its own ad group

Posted by Vivid-Hat-6636 on October 28, 2022 at 3:22 am

I have a campaign currently running with two ad groups (one is exact match and one is phrase match). I have one keyword that is doing really well in terms of leads and sales (b2b saas business).

I decided to move it to its own ad group to try and increase quality (currently 6/10) by creating a new landing page with the keyword more prominent / in the title etc and a new ad.

Any time I change things that are working makes me nervous…. Any tips? Should I have even bothered moving it to its own group? I paused the keyword in the other exact match ad group so it’s not listed twice in the same campaign.

Make a new ad group and move the other non-performing keywords instead

Why do you even need to do that? If it’s working well, leave it.

The rule for Google Ads is that we do not fix something that works.
