  • Merge multiple passions into one personal brand

I am 30. I have been wanting to work on a personal brand since ages. But my multiple interests overwhelms me. I keep thinking what to work on and when. I am a ux designer professionally and love to talk about it. But i also love doodling. And singing and cracking jokes and philosophy. Now its gonna be tough to have multiple niched accounts as i am pretty sure i wont be able to stay consistent and grow the account. However if i have one account, no one would take it seriously since things will be all over the place. If you faced anything similar, what have you done to find a way?

Exactly same. Close in age – Ux, doodle, art, plants, lifestyle philosophy and memes. I made an account but I don’t know if I should just keep it for my comics or shall I post personal stuff too.

just focus on UX. if the philosophy part of you can write about UX, and doodle explain … then that is plenty

    and be funny.

singing? eh, not sure. maybe sometimes funny singing about UX

“the icon was weird, because, because, BECAUSE … it is the Right color not so Bright” & illustrate that song with a doodle?

What topic can you produce the most consistent topic volume over a long period of time?

Write out the titles of 20-40 postsvideos you could do on each topic, and then go with the one where you have the least issue generating *lots* of content ideas. Focus on appealing to people interested in that content specifically.

I suspect the answer will be UX. Keep the philosophy and humor sprinkled in as a minor theme.

You can go with UX design because that can help you professionally as well. And as it will be personal branding, you can crack some jokes on the Instagram stories as well. It’s not like you gonna sing all the time, you can share it as a tip of what you do while working, how you keep yourself calm and enjoy the vibe. What type of song do you love to listen to? They can be some good, personal content for your stories.

These are the things that make it personal branding, otherwise, it’s a brand only. People will feel relatable and you are giving people multiple reasons to check your stories + you are keeping it interesting

Let me know if it sounds convincing to you

A lot of creatives I work with run into this issue and you can make it work but there has to be one through line to connect everything. For example, one artist I worked with wrote romance, sci-fi, & mystery. She also loved sharing her travel pics & cooking recipes all on the same account. We took a look at everything she wanted to offer and found that most had at least a hint of the paranormal/cryptic. So we made her through line basically “spooky shit” and she’s able to post *almost* whatever she wants through that lens and her account has grown rapidly because it feels authentic to her audience. Hope that helps!

I have this problem too… thanks for asking. It feels reasonable to have a main account and focus on growing that, and you can always have spinoffs if you want to try a different direction. Having a large main account will give you optionality in the future.
