    Hey Guys!

I need some advice on SEO!

I’ve my personal blog where I’ve been posting blogs about photography marketing strategies for last 8 months. The personal blog web address is on my name. For example, jameswalker.com .

Now, I am planning to build a service-based website for offering services to photographers.

My blog search engine performance is a bit good and I am getting a good amount of Convertable traffic from my blog.

    My question is:

Do I need to focus on ranking keywords of my service-based website?

    Or

Should I keep posting blogs on my personal blog?

If I try to focus on my service based website, I will need to regularly post content on service-based website and do link building and I think it will take time to get rankings.

My personal blog domain authority and page authority are 28 and 29.

If I focus on my service based website, I would not be able to spare time for my personal blog.

What’s your advice on this situation?

    Thanks

When you say you want to build a new website I take it that you mean on a different domain? In that case I would suggest that you simply extend your current blog to include services aswell instead, no need to spread your juice around if the websites would be in the same nische.

And for your question, you just need to do a keyword analysis. You need to understand how easy it is to rank on those service based keywords, what kind of traffic the keywords would bring and how many convertions those keywords bring. Then you just need to do the exact same thing and compare for the keywords that you use for your blog. That will tell you what you should focus on.

Lastly, you could also maybe just take a month or something for writing service based content and then return to your blogging. The more keywords your website rank for the better.

I would keep everything on one site. It will be cheaper, less work to manage two sites, and you can optimize for specific keywords under your services

Why not make your personal website/blog your brand/services website, and tweak some of the homepage content a little, or just build landing pages?
