  • Local google maps SEO affected by address change?

Posted by adrko on September 10, 2023 at 6:48 pm

Past 3 years I had to change my physical business location two times, in two month I have to do that once more. (Random circumstances)
Everything within same city or surrounding area.

Does it affect negatively my local SEO?
Especially now when I noticed big increase in leads from google maps searches.

Any advice will be gres appreciated

Did you do the verification process for the new location? Verifying your new location and changing your address on your site absolutely could affect your local map pack placement. It depends on a few factors, like how far away from your old address your new location is and also how close to city center your new location is compared to your previous location. Maybe keep your old location verified and keep your old location on your site but also remark on your site that you have another location (your new one).

As with most things involving SEO the answer to your question is ‘it depends’.

Yes, a change in your physical business location can affect your local Google Maps SEO.

When you change your physical business location, you need to update your NAP information on Google My Business, as well as any other directories or websites where your business is listed. You should also request a re-verification of your Google My Business listing. This will help Google to update its records and ensure that your business is still showing up in relevant search results.
