  • LinkedIn main domain name removed from Google

Temporary or not, it seems that LinkedIn has been removed from the Google Search from a while. I tried to found it with site:www.linkedin.com and it is not here, just the country subdomains of it. I think it is a Google error.

Good catch. I wonder if anyone over at LinkedIn has noticed yet.

Interesting. I believe Google is rolling out algorithm updates currently.

I think that’s probably a quirk of the current algorithm update. I’ve seen a lot of zero results today for searches. I also saw that with a few other site: domain.com type restrictive searches as well.

I’m sure that’s something they’ll have ironed out soon enough.

It happens. Once my site disappeared from Google for almost exactly 24 hours. Completely gone. Then came back as if it never left – all the same rankings. But for that 24 hour period I was sweating.

John Mu has tweeted that, if you use the Google Removal Tool to remove the http:// site from Google, the result is that everything will be push out from the index.

Are these two things related? I bet so.

Barry Schwartz already came out with this saying it was an error on linkedIn’s part. They are getting it fixed and expect to make a full rankings recovery with Google’s help.
