Join Us in Organizing a Class Action Lawsuit Against Google Ads!

Posted by mouhamedseye on October 10, 2024 at 3:47 pm

    Hello, Reddit community!

I’m reaching out to invite anyone who has experienced issues with Google Ads to join me in organizing a class action lawsuit.

    Why We’re Coming Together:

As many of you may know, using Google Ads can be frustrating. Like myself, I’m using Google Ads for my business, but I’ve noticed that Google is scamming us at times. Google makes billions of dollars from advertising each year while doing nothing about the algorithm that seems to just take our money.

I don’t want to say everything is bad with Google Ads because I do get customers from it, but sometimes I feel like I’m just throwing money out the window. It’s our money, and we need to know where we are spending it. The analysis Google provides doesn’t make sense. For example, Google may say you have a certain amount of clicks, but when you check the search terms, they don’t show you all the clicks; they only display the terms used by a significant number of people. What? I’m spending my money, and you’re not showing me every search my money goes to!

Click Fraud and Customer Service Issues

I’ve seen a lot of complaints about fraudulent clicks in various posts, and it’s happened to me too. But when we ask Google to refund our money, they request a lot of information (like web log reports), and in the end, they still often refuse to refund us. They claim to have their own algorithm to combat this, and while they say they’re refunding invalid clicks, I’ve noticed the amounts are alarmingly low—often less than $1 or $2—when I’m spending an average of $10 per click. There was even a day I averaged $70 per click, and I’m pretty sure they double-charged me because I had just one impression and two clicks.

I know some people may try to discourage us in the comments (perhaps they work for Google), as I’ve seen this a lot in discussions about suing Google. But for those who feel they might be affected, please join this Facebook group, and we will start this class action against Google. If we don’t take action, they will continue to do what they’re doing because it benefits them.

The problem is that Google has monopolized the advertising industry, and while other platforms may not perform as well, we often have no choice but to use Google. They are taking advantage of this situation.

Additionally, I can’t stand Google’s customer service—it’s the worst I’ve ever encountered. just a bunch of people who don’t know anything and don’t have access at all. Sometimes I wonder if I’m even speaking to a real person because the responses are always the same.

    What You Can Do:

I’ve created a Facebook group called Google Ads Class Action Lawsuit 2024 to bring together those affected by these issues. In this group, we aim to:

    • Share our experiences.
    • Stay informed about the progress of our potential lawsuit.
    • Work together to gather evidence and build a strong case.

Don’t forget the hellscape that is GMB video verification. No communication, no realistic path to resolve discrepancies, all while business listing results are tanked on maps.

Why don’t you put a cap on the CPC on the meantime?

What does the lawsuit trying to achieve?

I am not sure breaking up the monopoly is a good thing for advertisers.

Have you tried to run ads on any other Search Engine? It’s disastrous

I don’t work for Google but I have been consulted for a class action against them here in Canada and I can tell you it failed because Google has money and an army of lawyers.

You won’t get anywhere with this.

I hate Google and am convinced they have a giant scam going, but this just sounds like an amateur organizing a fake lawsuit around a topic they only have cursory knowledge of.

Bro either your campaign just sucks balls or your product does. Maybe even both. But to your point, I strongly believe Google wants to shift things toward performance max which may be why they are making your PPC for search/sales etc. less impactful?

I’ll agree with you that Google Ads can be frustrating. Most business people, especially small business, are not marketers and don’t fully, or even partially, understand marketing. That is a ripe environment for advertisers to waste money. Google doesn’t make it any easier by making it seem like it’s a piece of cake. Not just them by the way but every single of the hundreds of paid ad platforms out there.

A scam? No. These platforms basically say, we have a network of sites where you can advertise. We’ll let you access this network. You’re in charge of how you do that. If you use it in a way where you spend more than you take in, that’s on you.

I agree with you about the data. I’m a data guy. I’m sure Google has their reasons for doing things the way they do. It’s their business and they can do what they want, just like I do things the way I see best for my business. I do the best I can with what I’ve got.

Others have tried before with similar grievances but not much has come from them. If you want to sue them, go ahead. It’s your time and money and I do wish you luck but I don’t expect anything to come of it. I think this will be even more frustrating for you.

In my experience, I’m talking years, the issue is businesses thinking online marketing is easy when it’s not. When you don’t understand something, you are likely to lose money and this is exactly what is happening. Even many agencies have little clue and that is even more frustrating when a business hires one and sees no results. I’ve seen this three times in the last few weeks doing audits, pointing out where the problems are created by an agency.

You need a law firm to sort this out and identify if there’s a legit case, not a FB group. Otherwise this is just frivolity.
