I’ve Gained 1 MILLION followers on social media, what to do?
Hey,
Last year I created a couple accounts on Twitter and Instagram to grow an online presence. Some of them reallly blew up and now I have over 1 million+ followers on these platforms.
What is the best way to monetize this going forward? They are anonymous pages and are mostly about philosophers and writers.
Anyone experience with this? Or is it just better to sell them?

You should get them into an email list and try to sell them some digital products.
For example, a writing course.

If the accounts get good engagement and the followers are a good split, likely the best option is to sell the accounts.
Content partnerships, ie people paying you to post their content, could be an option but sounds like your content focus is pretty niche.

That’s pretty awesome that you built such a following on philosophy and writing. I don’t know how to help you monetize. But selfishly I would want you to promote my platform 😀 it’s about a new way of evaluating ecology and turning beneficial natural inputs into a value system through social media and local economic area interactions. The premise is based on Gift Economics by Charles Eisenstein, the pfand system in Germany, motivational studies, solarpunk ideas and aesthetics and late Marxist interpretations of socialist shifts in society coming about naturally as an eventual inevitability of capitalism. We will be kickstarting soon and having thinkers on the platform is something I would really like but I feel a bit murky paying for this exposure so perhaps instead I would want to donate to a cause of your choosing.

Which platforms, I have some suggestions that may be able to help? But the platform is sort of relevant to your options
Clickbank may not be a bad idea though. Maybe check out a YT video on how that site works – it’s in the affiliate marketing space but with that many eyes on your content you could potentially start making some good money even just from that for now.

Congrats! I seen people with these type of followers promote different things. Maybe that can work with yours as well.

Build you own micro Saas. Nothing better than recurring revenue, if you get a tool to charge 10$ a month that bring value to your audience it will be win win situation

I think you should definitely look at building a paywall variation to these accounts. Even if you convert 0.5% of the followers to paying customers it can be very lucrative.
Option A: Patreon – easy to set up and large well-known platform should be easy to monetize.
Option B: ClubHub – I just saw this they seem pretty upstart but offer white-label and access to data. You would prob be able to do a 2 for 1 and build an email list out of this too.

Either way – paywall is the way IMO.

Offer promo post , you wouldn’t believe the amount of people who are willing to pay to grow their following. I’ve seen promo run anywhere from $20-$1500 a post. Some range for longer periods of time for higher amounts and include an actual post on your page to a post on your story for 24 hours for lower amounts.

You’re an influencer now! Just continue to grow them, and find advertisers who want to sponsor content on your channels. E.g. Grammarly, Babbel, etc.

Are they accounts posting quotes and whatnot? You’ll have to think about what could bring value to your audience. I follow some of these accounts but tbh I have no idea who ‘runs’ them, so any offers or ads might not land too well. ?♀️
