Honestly I think the biggest hurdle it has to face in the U.S. at least is adoption by business and advertisers, which regardless of how the average user feels about it, is important for an app like TikTok to survive. TikTok’s alleged or perceived or actual ties to the Chinese government present real challenges to adoption. Even if the fears are unfounded, the higher-ups at a lot of organizations will be hesitant to jump on a platform with additional liabilities, even if they’re just perceived liabilities.
