Sounds like you may be getting into Greyhat/Blackhat SEO. Backlinks to your website should be unique from different c-class ip’s, built naturally overtime, and come from authoritative websites in the niche you are trying to gain backlinks from.
Avoid generating backlinks from shared servers unless you know for a fact your site won’t look like you are generating backlinks from a link farm.
As for your personal IP address, if you plan on posting on websites that display your IP address publically then yes this would be beneficial, besides that, hide my IP is a useless tactic.
