  • Is it best to create a new YouTube account to upload my first music video?

Posted by Poopcolumn on July 23, 2024 at 10:19 pm

I am about ready to upload my first music video to YouTube. My account was created 2 years ago and I haven’t uploaded anything to the profile. I want to provide myself the best opportunity to be suggested by the algorithm. Any advice is massively appreciated

Starting a new YouTube account can be good for focusing on your music. If your old account has some followers or activity, you might use that instead. Just make sure to add good keywords and interesting content to help with the algorithm.

It’s fine to use your existing account. Just make sure your profile is complete and looks professional. Upload regularly and engage with your audience to boost your chances with the algorithm. Good luck!

**You don’t need a new YouTube account. Your 2-year-old account is fine for your first music video. YouTube cares more about good content than account age.**

    1. Use good titles and descriptions

    2. Make an eye-catching thumbnail

    3. Share on other social media

    4. Reply to comments

    5. Make a channel trailer

    6. Use end screens to suggest more videos

    7. Keep posting new videos regularly

**Focus on making great music and videos. Good luck with your first upload.**

Yes also run google ads to promote your song. That would be great.

yep, concentrate on creating a catchy thumbnail and title. It is the first thing a potential listener will see, so your aim is to make sure he would like to click. Spend some time on your thumbnail, check out current trends, and ask the opinions of your friends.

Totally agree with the advice here! Using your existing account is fine—just make sure to optimize your profile and video for SEO. Think of it like giving your old account a fresh makeover; with great content and consistent uploads, you’ll make the algorithm work in your favor

Don’t worry about it too much. Post it on the current channel. And if you are worried, there’s no harm in making a new channel to do this.

u/Poopcolumn, I think your fine with the account you have. The key to getting traction for your music video is to first upload it, then share it everywhere you can, and build content around it to attract eyes.

Conner Price does a great job at this, if you want to go look at his YouTube, he makes 3-4 short videos out of and focused on his music videos which help pull people to his music.

If you have abandoned the account for 2 years, consider it dead. Create a new account and work with it.
