  • Is indexing every new article manually on google a bad practice?

Whenever I publish a new article I go to Search Console and index it manually.

My website is 5 months old and I've already tried not indexing an article manually and let Google find it on its own, but they never indexed my new pages even after days.

I wonder if doing so is a bad practice tho?

Also, in the last few months, a few of my articles have not been indexed on Google for unknown reasons even after requesting manually. I write them the exact way I wrote the other articles, but every time I submit a request for indexing them, Google does not index them.

The worst part is Google crawls to those pages but still doesn't index them. In the "not indexing reasons," Google has categorized them in the "Crawled but not indexed" category, which doesn't really help me with finding the actual reason behind that.

As long as it’s a great article consider it indexed. Am sure you know what I mean by great article. You as a publisher you understand your articles that needs to be indexed or not.

It’s not every article that needs to be indexed since some of them just supplement the information on the already ranking article and submitting such would confuse the SEO of the named page.

I used to have pages indexed automatically by google within 10 minutes of publishing. But sometimes you need to do it manually and it works.

    Hope this helps 🙏

No, it’s not bad practice if you need to give them a nudge, but I’d get to the bottom of why they aren’t indexing them on their own.

Are they well linked to? High quality (not AI-generated)? Included in your XML sitemap?

we do it every time we publish an article and 1 minute later it’s indexed, so don’t worry, it’s OK (and the reason the feature is there)
