Is getting the root domain to rank for a specific keyword mostly backlinks or can content help?
I have a domain that ranks about #15 for a short keyword phrase that's commercial. What's the best way to improve the root domain to show up higher, not specific pages?
I'm afraid if I create content pages it will cannibalize from the main page. Or do I just internally link to the home page from new content pages I create?
I can get individual pages to rank, but just not sure on the main domain for specific keywords.
If I get more related pages to rank, does that autoamtically help the root domain rank better?
