  • Is Facebook Worth It?

I’ve been trying to build a social media presence more lately, primarily on Instagram. I’ve played around with TikTok but find it to be too inconsistent and difficult to make content for to be something I want to focus on too much. I’ve never paid much attention to Facebook so I’m not sure if it’s a platform conducive to growth on social media.

If it helps, my content is based around sewing, cosplay, fashion, and historical dress. Basically I make all my own clothes, many of them have historical inspiration, and I dabble in cosplay as well. I’ve had two companies reach out to me about sponsorships, so I intend to start taking social media more seriously, but I’m not sure if Facebook would be a good platform or not since I’m not sure how time/labour intensive it might be, nor am I sure if it’s particularly good for growth, especially since I am not starting a business or selling a product.

I would definitely recommend it. Utilize Facebook groups. Join groups that are relevant to your niche. Start interacting with people in those groups and provide valuable insight when you can. Also, add those people as friends. That way, when you post, your content will show to the types of people you’re trying to attract

What sets Facebook apart from other platforms is the groups and events. From your line of work, I think it’d be beneficial to you to be on there. Also, much of the content is interchangeable. if you make a TikTok, you can share the same video as an Instagram or Facebook Reel, for example. So you don’t really need to make separate content specifically for Facebook

These days I really think it depends on niche. The Facebook user base is aging, younger people tend not to use it so much, but as others have said there are still groups and events on Facebook that could be of use for networking out.

Honestly I wouldn’t worry as much about posting and marketing through Facebook if you’ve already got Instagram and tiktok rolling to some degree. For one you’ll have a lot on your plate and if you’re not efficient, can burn yourself out spinning so many plates so to speak.

That being said, as I mentioned others have brought up groups. Its always worth trying to find active groups for this type of thing and getting involved. If people see you contributing regularly they’re bound to check out your content

The best times to post on social media to get the most follower engagement can vary depending on the platform and your target audience. However, here are some general guidelines:
    1. Instagram: The best times to post on Instagram are between 11am-1pm and 7pm-9pm on weekdays, with Wednesday being the best day overall. However, this can vary depending on your target audience’s location and behavior.
    2. Facebook: The best times to post on Facebook are between 9am-2pm on weekdays, with Wednesday being the best day overall. However, it’s important to note that Facebook’s algorithm prioritizes content that encourages meaningful interactions between users, so focusing on creating engaging content is just as important as posting at the right time.
    3. Twitter: The best times to post on Twitter are between 12pm-3pm on weekdays, with Wednesday being the best day overall. However, Twitter has a fast-paced and real-time nature, so it’s also important to monitor and engage with your audience throughout the day.
    4. LinkedIn: The best times to post on LinkedIn are between 9am-12pm on weekdays, with Wednesday being the best day overall. LinkedIn is a professional platform, so it’s important to focus on creating informative and valuable content that speaks to your target audience.
It’s important to note that these are general guidelines, and the best posting times can vary based on your specific audience and industry. The best way to determine the optimal posting times for your brand is to track your engagement metrics and experiment with different posting times to see what works best for you.

If you have a website, it’s by far the easiest social media to drive people to your website.

TikTok is better, my client had 1.2 million Facebook followers and every time he posted something, less than 200 people saw his post unless he paid for it. Unless you pay for ads, oneone will see ur post.

It’s a valid question to ask whether Facebook is still worth it in today’s social media landscape. While it’s true that the platform has faced some controversies over the years, including issues related to privacy and fake news, I believe that it still offers a lot of value to businesses and individuals alike.

First and foremost, Facebook remains the most popular social media platform in the world, with billions of active users. This means that it provides a huge potential audience for businesses to reach out to and engage with. Additionally, Facebook’s advertising capabilities are among the best in the industry, with a wide range of targeting options and a relatively low cost per click.

On a personal level, Facebook can be a great way to stay connected with friends and family, particularly those who live far away or who you might not see as often. The platform also offers a variety of interest-based groups and communities, making it easy to connect with like-minded people and find information on topics you care about.

Of course, there are valid concerns about privacy and data security on Facebook, and it’s important for users to take steps to protect their information. However, with the right precautions in place, I believe that Facebook can still be a valuable tool for both individuals and businesses.

I have a friend who is also into cosplay, fashion, and historical dress, and she found success in growing her social media presence by utilizing both Instagram and Facebook. She started by focusing on Instagram and, like you, used services such as Ascend Viral to boost her growth. Eventually, she expanded her presence to Facebook, where she found a whole new audience by joining relevant groups and sharing her creations there. As a result, she experienced even more engagement and growth across both platforms. So, I’d say it’s definitely worth giving Facebook a try, especially since you’re not trying to sell a product but rather share your passion with others. Have you thought about creating a Facebook Page to showcase your work and engage with your audience?
