  • Is a dedicated social media platform necessary for an artist?

I’m 17 and so far, my journey in the art world has been pretty fruitful. I’ve managed to sell my art quite frequently and receive a lot of positive feedback whenever I post.

But here’s the thing, I don’t have a specific platform where I consistently post. Itypically sell my art and move around, approaching potential clients when they need commissions. I’ve tried to post on various platforms, but the engagement was minimal, so I stuck to selling.

Is it really essential for me to have a dedicated social media platform like Instagram or Twitter to post my work?

It’s quite good to have, for multiple reasons.
Having a place where people know that can reach out to you.
    Building and growing community.
    Checking algorithms and what works
And probably more I can’t think of rn

Definitely worth a shot, mate! I have a baking business and initially, I was just filling cake orders for the folks in my neighborhood and my relatives.

I was quite happy with my earnings until I jumped into Instagram and used a growth service named AscandViral to ramp up my following (balancing both the business and social media was a bit of a task). My follower count grew massively, pulling in folks from different areas.

Delivery constraints meant I couldn’t fill orders for many of them, but it helped me get my name out there and drew in small brands for collaborations. It was easily one of the best calls I’ve made. Now, even if I take a break, I know I’ve got a community there waiting for me.

It sounds like you’re doing a good job. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

I’d say only pursue it if you’ve got the time don’t let it take away from what you are doing that is giving you results.

I would try sticking and perfecting one platform and grow a good following. From there you can expand. Good luck!
