You’re not dead.  What is “too old”?  Authenticity.

I am 36 and I also thought I was too old, but I’m enjoying making content. There’s a demand for older people too, not just young people. We can bring wisdom, can’t bring looks, so if you make it more about your personality rather than imagine, it can work.

It’s not too late! One of your biggest advantages is your life experience! Reiterating what someone else stated too, people aren’t too keen taking business advice from someone who’s not had any major life experience as an adult lol

I say go for it! Stay positive and optimistic and focus on constructive feedback.

I’m so mad at you for saying 32 is middle aged. 😂😂😂😂😂 I’m 33 and I see myself as young!

And you can be successful on social media at any age. Don’t use your age as an excuse not to try something new!

Also, even if you don’t feel comfortable talking on camera, the more you do it, the more you’ll get used to it.

I’m monetised on Youtube, started at 42. Took me around 9 months to get into the partner program. I already had a decent following from my blog, newsletter, IG and X accounts, that I started building in my 30s.

I don’t have a huge channel, but I don’t need to. I just need to reach people who might be interested in my products/services.

I will say though that Youtube is brutal. Soooo much work, and a pretty steep learning curve.

It’s never too late to do social media, even if you were 62. Age has no factor. You just have to be persistent, consistent, and stay on top of it. Post every day, 2 or 3 times if you can. Create a hashtag for yourself, use hashtags that are whatever you’re promoting, and use a catchy line for your title. Instagram is great for Reels, and you can find numerous sounds to attach to them. YouTube is great when you’re creating a time lapse video, explaining your process as you go, or using a catchy tune if available. It could take a few weeks, or even months to get going and create a base of followers and subscribers. If you’ve used Facebook, you can also create a business page there that can connect to IG. (They’re both Meta.) With Facebook, you can invite your friends to follow your page. You don’t have to create a whole new account, just go to the page creator, and put it together. Do you have a business name? Make sure you’re using that in every photo, or video. Make a link tree account, or something similar, and attach that to each page. People can use that to get to your pages via the links. Especially since almost everyone uses different social media servers.
The possibilities are endless. Best of luck!! 🤞

I’m an almost 60 year old man who posts cheap boat stuff (no bikini girls, no boat crashes)

I have 8,400 followers on Facebook, 67,000 subs on YouTube, 4,100 followers on Instagram, and 14,300 on TikTok

    Yeah…you’re too old.

Nothing life is to late to start when it pertains to social media.

Concentrate on your goals and needs, as you mentioned it’s mainly for business content. Will it be just creative content or to promote an existing business? There is an audience for everything you can think of. You can even promote yourself more with paid-ads and traffic. I believe all the popular social media sites offer this business product. Even look into AdSense with Google. I used to advertise for my business there also. I been on social media since AOL first came around in CDs with the junk mail.

No such thing as too late, but at the same time if you’re not confident, you can easily hire people to do your socials if it’s for a business!

I’m 32 and just started making my own content. I’m a SCUBA diver so content is not exactly common or highly produced. Within a few months I was contracted by a local dive-shop to produce content and run their social media pages.

Just do it. Find a differentiator and jump in.
