Instagram Username Changes and Google
I have changed my company’s instagram @, and now when my company is googled, the first result is the old username and says “sorry this page isnt available.” Is there a workaround for this? Does it take Google a while before it directs to our current username? I changed the handle maybe 2 weeks ago. Thanks!

You could create an account using your old username and add a link in a bio to your new account. I don’t really know if there’s another workaround of this issue, don’t think Instagram support will help you with this issue.

google doesnt keep 404s in the index, so it will eventually get deindexed, and the new one will eventually be reindexed

Tweet the new link. Sometimes Tweeting gets Google to index faster.
