I’m bummed and need help. I made some updates to the copy, page urls, meta descriptions, etc with keywords I’m trying to rank for my small business website. I asked Google to index these pages, it did. All in good standing. I’m showing up on search as one of the top Google Business pages on maps (ranking lower for SERP). I used to have 9 clicks a day now I’m 0. It’s killing me. I need more leads. It’s been almost 2 weeks since my updates.

Can I hire someone on here to look over my stuff, help me understand what’s going on, and give me advice? I’m using HikeSEO, Google Search Console and Analytics.

    Thank you 🙏🏼

It sounds like you’ve taken some solid steps with your SEO already. However, if your clicks have dropped to zero, there could be issues with the user experience or the relevance of the content to the search queries. Sometimes, even well-intended updates can negatively impact performance.

I’d recommend a detailed SEO audit to start with, which would look into not just your on-page factors but also your site’s technical aspects and user interaction data. Also, reviewing the changes in search trends or any adjustments in Google’s algorithm around the time your traffic changed might provide insights.

Would you like advice on how to conduct this audit yourself, or are you interested in professional help to dive deep into this?

Do you have the old versions of your page titles and meta descriptions saved somewhere? In terms of a quick thing you can do today, it may be worth reverting back those for a few days and checking in GSC and/or Google Business Pages whether that changes your click rate at all.

Titles and meta descriptions are the first impression a Google searcher gets of your site, so it could be that something in the new copy isn’t vibing with them. Also, take a glance at your local competitors’ titles and descriptions in Maps to see if they’re doing anything wildly different.

What industry, what area, what keywords, how many impressions, how long has the site been up?
