I’m looking to improve the search ranking of a real estate website that was just refreshed recently. It’s all being run off wordpress/wpengine and I thought I would be able to do most of this myself but just find myself more and more overwhelmed with the amount of tools and processes I don’t understand. Anyone interested in paid work to improve the SEO rankings?

Are you looking to fully give it out of hands, just some training or strategy development?

In terms of SEO, real estate is one of if not the single most difficult nut to crack. I’ve ran an SEO firm for 13 years and I wouldn’t take on a client in that space.

The Zillows and Trulias and LoopNets of the world simply own that space. So your remarks are not necessarily indicative of your SEO skills. It’s just a saturated market already dominated by several major players.

I used to work in-house as a student accommodation real estate SEO,

One of the things I learned day is that if your don’t have many properties you can do all the SEO you want but you’ll struggle to rank.

I’m happy to have a look though if you want to DM me

Of you’d like to work with a Jack of all trades. I’d be happy to help. The way I see it, is to not just depend on website for SEO traffic, but also work on other sources of traffic like the social media. In other words make some noise (Social Signals)

Because it’s a tough niche. We must look at what the competitors have and do it better than them or provide something more valuable to the users. For a client, I’ve managed to hold on to rankings for about 2 years now, just by adding products to the website, just displaying them without the buy now option. That’s a +1 in the eyes of Google.

For your niche, you could may be add helpful calculators and add information to target potential buyers outside your city, who may be interested in moving to where you are. Get those +1’s, they increase the time on page and get you more clicks. We could then pass on that SEO juice to other pages with internal links or find ways to retain those users.

The more helpful the website gets, the tougher it gets for your competitors to beat you. And although a niche might be tough, if you gain topical authority on a few topics and really do a good job helping the website visitors, the rankings won’t just go up, but will stay there for a long long time. If the competition is hard to penetrate, target keywords that they’re not looking at and then move your way up to gain Google’s trust as you gain the user’s trust. I know that there’s no way to beat the Giants in your industry and may be they’ve covered everything that you can think of. But there’s always something that they are not doing and probably will never be able to do. Just have to find many of those.

If you have the budget, take me in full-time and I’m all yours. I’m tired of working with multiple clients & PPC guys and working on web / graphic design projects alongside SEO. I’d like to focus on 1 or 2 brands (possibly 1 client or job) 40 hours a week and help them scale faster while I work on my personal projects in my spare time.

I am yet to poke the real estate niche and based on the comments it looks like it’s a tough one. But what’s the fun if it’s easy. And I know you’d have done it with great success and still can do it.

I would have raised my hand, but then you must have received a horde of messages.

By the way, we never accept unpaid SEO projects.

I have not done real estate, but I do have experience ranking smaller destination-specific travel websites ahead of industry behemoths like Expedia, Trivago, etc. It certainly can be done with some effort. DM me if you’d lije to chat.

Real estate is a very special niche when it comes to SEO. Sometimes we have to play with the biggest fish in that tank.

If you’re aware of the fact that it would take time to appear SEO results and needs patient, please DM me.
