I’ll pay somebody knowledgeable in PPC, $50 on paypal for a quick call/webinar to answer some questions.

I hope this is allowed. I don’t want to drop $1k on a guru. I am looking to toss some some cash somebody’s way if they are legitimate and can answer some questions I have.

I am doing affiliate marketing with Clickbank, and have started with PPC on bing/google/facebook. Still creating my landing page/email automation.

I’m currently running ads on bing for a weight loss product, spending about $1/click. (money isn’t an issue for me, but I don’t want to entirely waste it so I’m looking for help to learn PPC) I want to know, how many keywords is too many keywords? I’m using 3,000 right now. I want to know how to target better, and how to know if i should use a landing page, or just direct link. I have a pretty good scope/idea of how this works, but I am specifically looking to maximize my PPC, split testing etc…whatever you can do.

Serious inquiries only. This is real, but I expect real answers and help given to me.

I’m not interested in doing a call or anything but this is too many keywords. My best-performing account right now has about 50 total keywords across 5 ad groups – 16 of those make up about 80% of total conversions.

You should consider intent – what keywords actually demonstrate a searcher wants your product specifically, and wants it bad enough to make some kind of commitment?

Can give you a few tips here.
It’s been some time since I last used bing but search marketing principles remain the same irrespective of search engine and should help an SEM novice to keep things simple and maintain focus on what’s important:

Pareto principle is your best friend when it comes to digital marketing. You will always notice that top 20% to 30% of your keywords/search ads/ social ads/ social target audiences are giving you 60% to 80% of impressions or clicks or conversions.
So no need to worry about 3,000 keywords. Just keep it simple by making a list of top 50 to 100 most searched AND RELEVANT keywords and put your focus on these.

Search volumes are very important when you shortlist relevant keywords. Suppose there are 2 keywords which are equally relevant and have monthly search volumes of 10,000 and 50.

Now assume your CTR is 10% and click to sale conversion rate is also 10%. This means that the keyword with 10k searches can give you 10k x 10% x 10% = 100 conversions per month.
Whereas the keyword with 50 searches will result in 0.5 conversions per month on average. Even if you double your conversion rates you will only be able to increase no. of conversions by 0.5 per month – which is not something to loose your sleep on.

So instead of putting equal efforts on both keywords, I will prioritize my focus in following way:

    • Focus on highly searched and highly relevant keywords – once you have improved performance on these, move on to:

    • Low to medium searched but highly relevant keywords – these are the keywords which might only give you 0.5 conversions per month on average but if you have 500 such keywords you end up with 250 conversions every month.

And never use broad match keywords till you develop a better understanding of search. Exact match and Broad match modifiers are more than enough. As someone new it’s very likely you will end up burning money using broad match.

If you need any further help feel free to ping me. Always happy to help people who are putting in efforts to learn digital marketing.
