If you could share just one crucial SEO tip, what would it be and why?

Do not chase the algorithm. Not every short term drop in rankings and traffic means something is wrong. Don’t “fix” things that don’t need to be fixed, especially if you can’t clearly identify the cause. I have seen so many people do more harm than good by pure actionism. Learn some patience.
