I want to grow my fashion Instagram account.
Posted by Capable_Indication64 on December 31, 2022 at 2:48 pmI’ve started this account with my friend about a year ago and we’ve been posting daily (not always fashion related) just to keep our followers engaging.
We’re at 1.7k for few months now and we can’t seem to gain any exposure. Meanwhile, there are some other friends’ accounts from the same niche who are seeing great growth (far better than us).
Should we buy followers so people check us more when they see the big numbers?

GuestDecember 31, 2022 at 2:49 pmMy main advice is that you focus on interacting with those accounts that you mentioned (I mean commenting on their posts, or liking the comments of their followers or responding to the comments of their followers, giving them a follow, etc.)
This will help you to have more possibility that they see your profile. These comments can’t be direct spam (Something like “check out my profile..etc) Sometimes subtle comments like “what an amazing design” or “I like the way that pink color looks” can work.
My next advice is that you do not buy fake followers or likes, there will be many people who will tell you that this will help you, but I assure you that the only thing you will achieve is to destroy the reach of your account or even banning it. If you’re willing to spend any money on promotions then you got ads or growth services. For the latter, I know one called AscendViral. Heard of it on this app and I’ve seen people giving it great reviews.
Additionally, if you make good use of hashtags you can get more visibility, use low competition hashtags (this will prevent your posts from being lost in the many other posts under that tag) so that you have a better chance of spending more time on them.
Make use of the localization option to place your city or several cities. All in all, the most important thing is perseverance. I wish you the best of luck

GuestDecember 31, 2022 at 3:20 pmHi! Before we dig in, you should know that some reasons for follower growth will always be a mystery. That’s because Meta does not share all the details of the Insta algorithm. You can do everything right for six months and see consistent but modest growth, then one day you’ll wake up with an additional 10K followers, and you won’t know why. It’s frustrating – and much worse on TikTok – but it’s part of life on Insta.
That said, 1,700 followers is a solid number. If you want to put yourself in the best position to continue to grow, it’s worth doing a clear-eyed, honest audit of your account as well as other accounts whose success you hope to emulate. Use the lessons you learn from that audit to identify best practices and create a strategy for audience growth. Follow that strategy daily and weekly while keeping a close eye on the metrics and iterating as warranted. If you consistently follow best practices, you should show consistent growth while putting yourself in the best position to wake up to that huge follower increase.
Start by looking at your account’s Insights, and dig into the days on which you had a follower spike. Ask: what hat led to those spikes? How can I do more of what led to those spikes?
Then look at your content reach and ask how you can post more of the content – with similar descriptions and hashtags – similar to the content that had the greatest reach.
Finally, look at the days on which you did not grow your audience and the content that had a low reach. Ask how you can post less of that content going forward.
Finally, look at your friends’ accounts and the accounts whose success you hope to emulate, and ask and answer a few questions:
• How does their successful content compare to your content? (It’s important to be honest with yourself. Also, it’s worth noting that accounts often grow when they focus on one engaging content area and they have a single engaging voice in their captions.)
• What content are they posting that fails to engage their audience, and why does that content fail?
• How often do they post?
• What is their format mix – feed posts vs. Stories vs. Reels?
• What hashtags do they use?
• What is their voice? What words and tone do they use in their captions that get a response from fans?
• Are they replying to comments? (This is an important engagement strategy.) If yes, how often and what do they say?
• Are they promoting their account elsewhere – other social networks, websites, etc? If so, how and where?
• Are they doing anything else to grow their fanbase you might emulate? Giveaways and contests, for example?
Once you’ve done your audit you should be able to create a strategy for audience growth. Your strategy should cover the content you post, where you post it (feed vs. Stories vs. Reels), what you say in captions and how often you post. Stick closely to that strategy for the first month and look at your insights daily and weekly to identify what’s working and what’s not.
After the first month, regroup and adjust your strategy based on the lessons you learned from your insights. Rinse and repeat.
Hope that helps. Best of luck!
