  • How to test seo in Lower environments.

I’m a software engineer responsible for maintaining a blog site that receives around 2 million visits per month. We frequently receive SEO improvement requests from experts, but the challenge lies in determining whether the fixes we implement are effective or not. Often, we have to wait for improvements to be reflected in SEO scores.

Our current approach relies heavily on tools like Lighthouse scores and Page Insights. Are there any specific tools or techniques that can help us more accurately track SEO progress?

Additionally, we operate in lower environments like alpha and Dev. Is Google Chrome’s Lighthouse score a reliable metric to gauge SEO improvements in these environments? Are there ways to simulate real traffic in these environments for more confidence in our SEO testing?

Lastly, we have a substantial content base with around 7,000 articles and 1 million forum discussions. How do larger organizations typically manage and monitor their SEO efforts? Are there any best practices for tech professionals in the field beyond just relying on Lighthouse metrics

I doubt that anybody will define for you how to measure SEO success, that is part of being an SEO or marketing director with responsibility. As of what Lighthouse can do for you, I would ask the question whether it is possible for two sites to have the same score. If so, that means that you can do it with 1000 sites and Google will still rank 10 of them on the first page and still has to decide which ones are better.
