How to set up pixel for newsletter sign up

Posted by seohelper on May 13, 2020 at 11:03 am

I have a wordpress site which features an optin form box for my newsletter in the sidebar. My ‘thank you’ page is an html web page though; it’s not part of wordpress. Do I place the FB pixel on the ‘thank you’ page or on my homepage?

Also, what type of even should I choose for the conversion? “Registration” for example?

    Thanks

Put the code in the header. You can use the fb pixel helper addon to determine which pages the pixel is active on

You should have the FB pixel base code on every page of your site. That maximizes opportunities for retargetting users later. For WordPress FB provides an official add-on that you can install with just a couple of clicks. For the thank you page that is not on WordPress you’ll need to put both the base code and the separate conversion event. I’d suggest using Subscribe as the event for a newsletter, but the type of event you track isn’t really important. Registration or lead also could make sense.
