  • How to reduce my website Spam Score?

Posted by seohelper on April 11, 2020 at 11:20 am

    Hello,

I have a blog that it’s around 10 months old. I’ve been working on it’s SEO for a few months now.

That been said, i noticed with **MOZ** tool that the spam score of my website is **22%** when i looked up the backlinks of my domain, i found out that it has many Chinese backlinks who’s spam score is really high. (i already uploaded a disavow file)

I’m guessing the previous owner of my domain name did some black hat SEO. Now i have to clean up his mess. So I would like to know if there is a way to level the spam score of my website.

What can i do to fix this problem? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

Don’t pay attention to that, just continue to build good backlinks and improve your content

Disavow all bad backlinks. Go to Ahrefs and find out all your low quality and spammy backlinks and then disavow them in Google Search Console. You can also get the spammy backlinks using Moz.

Moz’s spam score is kind of misleading anyway, as a score of 22% makes it sound like 22% of your backlinks are trash, but it just means it’s giving your domain a score of 2/10 for spaminess, which isn’t actually that bad at all.

Spam score is not based on links, only on-site features.
