  • How To Properly Monetize Once You Have 100K+ Followers

Posted by DragonPhister on December 26, 2022 at 9:25 pm

I’ve been able to build a brand on IG with over 250K followers in the finance/business niche all organically. The monthly reach averages 1MM people, and sometimes when the content goes viral goes upward of 5MM. The brand is still growing by about 5-6K followers per month.

I’ve tried to release several products in the past to monetize but they haven’t gone well at all over the last year. I released an eBook which did pretty well during launch but I think it also did well because it was during covid and everyone was at home. Since then sales have been pretty bleak. I also released a Discord service with a lot of cool features to sort of build a SaaS service and initially traction went smoothly but now because of the weakening economy, it also has sort of dried out.

I guess I don’t know what to do. I’ve seen some pages with 75K followers making tons of money and I’m struggling.

This is what I’ve had in mind but for 2023 go full throttle and scale (rather than 1 post per day, increase it to 2 posts and 2 reels, more engaging story content), and then release a freebie to start gaining emails. I currently don’t have an email bank or anything. While I start building the email bank, I build a great product with good promotional material so that once I build up the bank to, let’s say 10K emails, I can start advertising it. And if I grow the page quickly, I’ll start getting more and more people interested to run promotions? In the past I’ve turned down all promotions cause I wanted to focus on growth.

All in all, I’m really passionate about the niche and growing the brand and ideally want to pivot to working on this full time but want to understand how others who built successful brands were able to monetize or were stuck and then scaled and monetized properly.

    Thanks for all the help!

It seems like you’re bringing a lot of value to the table from your content by how you’ve grown so quickly. Have you thought about putting some of that behind a paywall? Build a website that you can funnel people into and sell classes, lectures, zoom calls, one on one advice. I see a lot of people monetizing that way. The social media content is just enough information to grow and pique interest to push them onto your site.
