Shadowbanning is a term that describes limiting a user’s visibility on social media without their knowledge. This can be a frustrating experience for anyone using social media, as it can limit their ability to reach their target audience and promote their products or services. This post will discuss how to avoid shadowbanning on social media.

    1. Avoid using banned hashtags: Social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter often ban specific hashtags associated with inappropriate content. Using these hashtags can result in your account being shadowbanned. Before using a hashtag, it’s essential to research and ensure that it’s not banned.
    2. Don’t engage in spammy behavior: Social media platforms are continually cracking down on spammy behavior, such as liking, commenting, or following too many accounts in a short period. Engaging in spammy behavior can trigger the algorithm and result in shadowbanning.
    3. Post high-quality content: Posting high-quality content that is engaging and relevant to your target audience is essential to avoiding shadowbanning. Social media platforms prioritize engaging content, and if your content is not performing well, it can result in your account being shadowbanned.
    4. Don’t violate community guidelines: Each social media platform has its own set of community guidelines, which can result in your account being shadowbanned. It’s essential to read and follow the community guidelines to ensure that your account is not penalized. Another option is to use a service that does this for you automatically.
    5. Avoid using third-party apps: Using third-party apps to automate your social media activity can trigger the algorithm and result in shadowbanning. It’s essential to avoid using these apps and instead engage with your audience manually.

Avoiding shadowbanning on social media requires a strategic approach or a service that automates the process. In addition, it’s essential to stay up-to-date with the latest algorithm updates and social media trends to ensure that your account continues to grow and thrive. If you are part of a team or an individual that values his time, you can always use a service that protects you from shadowbanning.

I think it is safe to say that instagram isn’t that relevant. People have it cause they feel they need to use it.

In order for your content to be seen on IG, you have to pay money for the algorithm to show your content to your followers. Otherwise, anything that is free for you to use, is extracting free data on you. Instagram makes a lot of money off your data , sells it and turns it into targeted ads on your screen.

It’s possible to have a thriving business without social media followers

Well, following the tips mentioned in this post can certainly help prevent shadow-blocking, but it is important to remember that relying only on centralized social media platforms controlled by a few people or corporations can lead to censorship of your content and the resulting suppression of free speech. Therefore, I would look more to decentralized social media platforms such as Solcial. Here, users have more control over their interactions and content, and are not subject to censorship and shadow banning like on traditional social media platforms. In addition, the transparency of such networks, can foster greater freedom of speech and fair access to information. So while it is important to follow the rules of traditional social networks, it may be worth looking at promising alternatives and not depend on the will of odious owners.

I’ve seen this happen here. I have two Reddit accounts, on both of which I delete posts and comments after about a week or two, mostly for privacy and some other personal practices. I used to have the post and comments sit there on my account, forgotten about, and had a reasonable amount of upvotes and neutral content, as a general “usual” user might. When I started the practice of deleting things after 7 days, I noticed a drop in engagement very shortly after. Did I suddenly perhaps become less interesting (assuming I was somewhat interesting beforehand) or start commenting any differently? No. I started seeing (significantly) more comments with just (1) rather than seeing any number of change, when previously I’d get *some* amount of interaction, via either vote clicks or comment replies, which also dropped off significantly. I also started seeing more of my ‘posts’ getting trapped in automod queues and never getting seen.
Additionally there was also a shift when I started using a third party app to browse Reddit. So these things do factor in. I’m not using social media for professional purposes, but it’s interesting to note. Thanks for your post.
