How to get into Digital Marketing/PPC/Google Ads Certification(Serious Replies Only)

Posted by seohelper on June 19, 2020 at 4:00 am

Hello everyone I am terribly sorry if this is not the right place to post something like this, but I need some help. I know absolutely nothing about anything in the title, but I am wanting to get into it as I see it as quite an interesting field. I am asking if anyone can give me any advice on how to get started in becoming knowledgeable on Digital marketing. Any tips or advice on where I should start learning, or do you have any resources that you used to learn that you would be willing to share with me? Anything helps, thank you in advance for reading this post and a double thank you to those of you who comment on this post. 🙂

    Welcome to the community!

This should get you started (obviously not all-inclusive or by any means the “only” way):

-Get familiar with the fundamentals of each area of digital marketing. Then go deeper into one that you find most appealing and where you think you can align your strengths to provide value.

-Connect with people with proven experience.

-Come up with good questions to ask them.

-Pay someone who knows what their doing to teach you how to get positive results in the real-world. They’ll show you the ~20% of things that lead to ~80% of results.

-Ideal: Practice, practice, practice. In PPC, for example, practice on low budget accounts if you get the chance. Reach out to people you know that would be willing to let you manage their accounts for free or at a low cost. You could also consider helping a non-profit but I’d avoid that if you can help it (as Google Ads, in particular, is a bit different for them then most other accounts). Create an Upwork profile and send out proposals every day for lower paying projects.

-Work through an online course like Brad Geddes’ Simplilearn course or a lower cost option like Issac’s course on Udemy. Don’t get stuck here. You have to get practice. Too many people are afraid of failing and stay stuck in the learning phase.

    Best of luck!

Hello and welcome! Here are some tips:

You can learn a lot by yourself and get some certificates that can show your interest by area
    – Google Skillshop
    – lGoogle Analytics Academy;
    – hubspot academy
    – semrush academy

Test with your own blog using Google Analytics, getting familiar with Google ads interface etc

Try to apply to agencies, usually it’s the best way to start out

Lookout for companies you’re interested and try to ask questions to someone who’s working there already to understand the different tasks and everyday responsabilities, and maybe try asking how you could apply for a job there
