  • How to find the right influencers on FB and YouTube..

Hi everyone, I hope you are keeping on top of things at this crazy time. I am in the process of launching a social media project and I am looking at ways to increase my reach. Basically I am making a video series sharing ways to deal with the lockdown constructively, so the theme is general wellness and mental health. Obviously I want to increase connections via YouTube, FB and Instagram, but I’m finding paid boosts are not effective and so I am considering engaging with influencers. I’m starting out researching keywords and hashtags related to wellness, but I wanted to ask whether anyone has some advice for finding the right influencers on these platforms? I don’t want to use a paid service if I can help it, but I don’t rule it out, if I feel it is value for money. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

To be frank with you, its going to cost you some money. But you also have to think of it in the long run. Been able to have your social media presence higher helps your product get to a lot more eyes and build your own audience.

Do you have a budget in mind?

Your theme is highly useful these days and would help a lot of people. Not to mention that so many would be interested in watching the video series.

This is why it would be best to get the wheels running ASAP.

As far as I understand, your goal is to increase your reach, right? Have you tried promoting your project in FB groups or on your own social media too?

It doesn’t even have to be engagement with one or several influencers. (Btw, anyone is a tiny influencer without even intending to be that).

You could also increase your reach by making people genuinely interested in your project and wanting to share it to help others. Sure, compensation is always stimulating, yet in this case it might not even be the center point to boost exposure.

Focus more on their influence and not on the number of followers they have.
The best influencers have more than just a massive amount of followers – they have actual influence among those followers.

The sweet spot is micro-influencers. Micro-influencers are known for having a relatively large reach but are hyper-relevant to their audiences. They’re highly regarded among their followers as someone whose thoughts and opinions can be trusted. Examples of micro-influencers can include professional experts, bloggers, or even everyday people with a niche following in a specific topic.

When looking don’t just focus on follower counts or likes. Look for comments and how they interact with their followers in those comments. If they interact negatively or NOT AT ALL with their following you don’t want them representing you.

Pay someone in fiverr 20-30 bucs to put together a list of 50-100 for you…

I would start a Google search for YouTube channels and FB pages around the keywords you are most interested in. Chances are once you find a few of those, the system (Youtube or FB) would suggest a few more like them. It helps also to check out your own current followers, perhaps identify micro-influencers among them or check out who they’re following because they probably follow other influencers in the same field of interest. You can also flat out ask your followers/subscribers (or the first few micro-influencers you find) whom else they follow or like in this industry.
I’m not sure if Topsy is still doing its thing, but it used to be a free tool to find influencers and experts based on keywords. Another tip is to find those influencers on Twitter first (because it’s easier to find users based on keywords and hashtags on Twitter) then look up their other social accounts.
So basically, finding micro-influencers is possible manually with some work and time without having to pay for it (whether by using a tool or a service provider to do the job). Good luck!
