GuestSeptember 30, 2024 at 5:35 pmYou might not understand now IG, or any social media works, so please don’t take my explanation as roasting you. Yor account has followers, and what you post usually goes onto their feeds. Instagram does not take your posts, and just broadcast them to everyone on Instagram. It chooses posts specifically to push out to folks that do not follow you, all based upon an algorithm. If your post(s) meet or exceed that algorithm, then non-followers will be exposed to your content, and might actually follow you to see more. How that works exactly is a mystery, as Meta & Instagram keep it a closely guarded secret to avoid competing social media platforms from copying them, and to prevent algorithm manipulation by users. That being said… any post with high engagement, is more likely to get out beyond your following. This means, likes, comments, replies, etc. But only having a few followers will make all this an uphill battle. So, what does someone do to beat this insurmountable challenge? Drive traffic TOWARDS your instagram account FROM somewhere that you already have followers! Youtube, Deviantart, facebook, twitter/X, tik tok… If you have zero followers anywhere, then you’ll have to actually find people to follow you, either by physical real world marketing (Asking people to follow you, posting flyers, stickers on poles, etc) or by posting EVERYWHERE, on all social media accounts, and driving as much traffic as possible towards Instagram. A subversive method I’ve used in the past: Get people to share your posts to their own feed. Ask questions in your posts to increase engagement, post something with a mistake in hopes folks will comment with a correction… Tag people with larger accounts in hopes they will re post your content. Ask other artists to provide feedback on your art, ON instagram, so their followers might see your art, and their fav artists feedback on your art, and get some attention that way. Social Media is not easy. But work at it hard enough, for long enough, and you will get rewards. I wish you luck!

GuestSeptember 30, 2024 at 5:36 pmQuite simply, there aren’t any. Since the IG algorithm isn’t particularly friendly for small IG pages, you have to hope that one post goes viral. You can buy promotion directly from IG, then your post will be shown on other feeds of non-followers for the paid period. Whether it’s worth it is not an imitation, it’s just expensive. I recommend just post, use hashtags, ignore the likes.

GuestSeptember 30, 2024 at 5:38 pmCreate a reel showing the whole process, the story of your designs, what made you decide to do it this way and how did you actually do it. Also a TikTok account can be very useful for you.

GuestSeptember 30, 2024 at 8:01 pmVideo video video. Instagram released a statement a few months back saying they will prioritize smaller accounts, original content, and video over all other media types.
Play into trends, use audio, and utilize engagement plays when possible (polls, open ended questions in the caption, etc). It’s definitely not going to be easy and it takes a lot of work, but it’s possible!

GuestSeptember 30, 2024 at 10:28 pmMy best advice is to engage with other animators and artists on IG. Don’t stress too much about the numbers— focus on sharing your passion and building community!

GuestOctober 1, 2024 at 12:59 amStart by sharing your process, not just final pieces. People love seeing the behind-the-scenes. Also, engage with others’ posts and use relevant hashtags. Consistency and engagement are key! 🎨✨

GuestOctober 1, 2024 at 1:54 amInstagram Reels is your best option to scale. Your reel gets more views only if it’s seen by non followers. So, try this:
Make a schedule. Decide how many times a week you want to post a reel. Ideally I would say 2-3 reels but it depends how much work you gonna put in every reel.
Don’t forget to add a location tag and also keywords related to the content so it becomes searchable.
Cross share on story with a location tag.
Add music which is trending. If you notice a music where only less than 1,000 reels are made and it’s trending, that’s your best bet.

GuestOctober 1, 2024 at 4:41 amThank you for asking that question. I am new to social media and thought the comments people left for you were very helpful. Good to know there are genuine people around. I am getting a lot of scammers in my inbox

GuestOctober 1, 2024 at 6:23 amBe. Patient. Building a business takes time. So does building a following. It’s a journey, not a sprint.
Starting and stopping and starting and stopping puts you behind everyone else. Every time you stop and re-start under a different title/ name, the people who were following (even if just lurkers) have to go find you again. Many will simply stop looking for you.
So, Be Patient.
