  • How Often to Post on Social Media?

Posted by shellformew on August 21, 2024 at 10:05 am

We all know consistency is key on social media, but how much is too much?

I recently started a new Twitter account—it’s been two weeks, but I only have 10 followers. It’s hard not to feel anxious, and I find myself wanting to post something every day just to see some growth.

    So, I’m curious:

    • Is posting daily the right path, or should I focus more on quality over quantity?
    • How often do you post on social media?
    • Please share your experiences and strategies, and don’t forget to mention which platform you’re using.

I’d greatly appreciate any advice you can offer!

You dont need to post anything new. Just retweet the post you find it interested. I retweet many post daily and have reached over 100 followers in few months.

    Startup experience:

I’m posting on a daily basis, sharing cool work we use for our website. Also, we recently wrote a short blog about our first mvp launch, and it was a hit: +2 new followers, 300 views, and 8 people visited our website. We’re just starting out, but it’s better than just one like, haha.

    So:

    • Quality over quantity.
    • Blog posts bring engagement, views, clicks, and sometimes followers.
    • We also use the hashtag #buildingpublic.
    • Ask /Grok to share with you posts that brings numbers and people.

I totally get the anxiety around growth, but when it comes to social media, quality > quantity almost every time. Consistency is key, but spamming daily posts won’t necessarily lead to better engagement if the content isn’t resonating. For a new account, I’d recommend starting with 3-5 high-quality posts a week and focusing on value whether it’s tips, insights, or something your target audience will genuinely care about. Engagement is also huge. Spend time interacting with others in your niche, and you might find more traction than by simply posting every day.

Posting daily can help grow your audience but quality is more important than quantity. Find the right balance of engaging content for your platform and followers. Experiment to see what works best…

@Furloughgroup had a really good post in this group about how much posting it takes to get to 100,000 followers. Here is the link.

Focus on creating valuable content that resonates with your target audience. Consider posting 3-5 times a week on Twitter and tracking your engagement metrics to determine what works best for your account.

Additionally, engage with other users by commenting and retweeting relevant content. This will help increase your visibility and attract new followers.

Post every time you think you improve on silence with your post.

Spam as much as you can, as soon as you have at least 1 person interacts with your posts several times, start reducing from 1-2 posts a day, to 3-4 a week. The more you grow, the less you want to post, the goal is 1-2 per week maximum. Depending on what you do, you can also go 1 per month

I’m not an X expert, but try to test the water. Try to post xx times, and if that works, you can use that posting frequency. Sometimes other experiences might not work or work with someone else’s account. What I can suggest is that you should try it yourself. I do IG management and some posting frequency recommendations do not apply to my account.

Twitter is pretty much same as any other social media platforms which means you have to know your: Niche, Audience, Content Type, perfect time to post/schedule, SEO, as well as demand, and overall your audience type.

So, spamming won’t get you anywhere.

    And quality always beats quantity!

I would definitely recommend you to keep a track of successful creators that are in your niche, see whats working for them and try to make better version of their content or add to it to continue the debate/talk and overall engagement while directing people back to your content for more detailed response or continuation of the post….

This is like leveraging others people content for your benefits!

Also, stay up-to-date with latest talks/trend’s/challenges in your niche or space.

And just be consistent with your content and transparent with your audience and you will do fine!

    Good luck! 👍

Posting consistently—and at the right times—is generally more important than volume. However, it’s generally recommended that you post fairly regularly.

With Twitter, the prevailing wisdom is that you should post many times a day, at least 3 and as many as 15. But again, what’s most important is that you’re posting regularly, even if it’s just once a day.

For my part, neither my own businesses nor Penji use Twitter as a regular part of their marketing strategy. But on platforms where we’re active, we always strive to post once a day at a minimum.

How often you post depends largely on a variety of additional factors, such as your niche, geolocation, audience activity, b2b or b2c segment, the platform itself, and so on.

In general, I would say that the more content you post, especially reels, the higher your chances of going viral and getting recommended, especially in the beginning.

Trying to build a brand new. Teasing once a day for 10 days, then gonna post twice a day for 2.5 weeks and then once every 2 days once the drop is out. This would the same across YT shorts, tik Tok and insta

Yes, you should always focus more on quality over quantity with how you create your contents. Low quality contents are useless.

As SMM, its helpful for me if I post 2x-3x a week, planning or strategizing helps to have quality content instead of posting daily.
