I am student and I am helping my moms friends in managing her social media accounts. I am a amateur and have fairly good idea about socials. I will be posting and designing her posts, stories and reels.
How should I charge her based on the above?

How many hours do you work?
What’s the minimum wage per hour in your state/city?

That would be the minimum baseline to be compensated for your time. Do you have skills you want to be compensated for, like good skills? Add more dollars to the hourly.

industry standard is 1000-4000 a month. people are given salaries to run their company’s account. if she tries to low ball you tell her to go fuck herself and to make it herself or hire some joe schmo.

you’re doing video which is a job itself

you’re doing video editing which is a job itself

you’re doing photography which is a job itself

you’re doing photography editing which is a job itself

you’re handling all of the backend (messages, comments, seo, etc) which is a job itself

i’m also missing a few things but you get my point.

companies give people salaries to do this and social media agencies charge an arm and a leg to do this because it’s HARD.

it also looks like you managing multiple accounts which if that’s the case you deserve more than 1k a year.

and if she balks at that, start to tally up all of those worked hours and see how her stupid grin turns upside when the bill is OVER 4 thousand
