How many conversions are enough to switch to a TCPA bidding strategy?

Posted by ZestycloseGrape on July 17, 2024 at 10:48 am

Hi guys, I'm running YouTube ads with the Max.Conv bidding strategy. Some of my campaigns have already achieved 50 conversions within the last 20 days. Is it enough data to switch those campaigns to Target CPA bidding?

Yes. You’re looking for at least 30 conversions in 30 days, and you’re exceeding that threshold. As long as they didn’t all flood in on one day, you should be set to switch to tCPA, start with your tCPA at actual CPA, and then adjust in increments once performance is stable (2-7 days usually)

Generally, 100+ conversions are recommended for TCPA. Are you seeing stable CPA?

Yep, you should be just fine as long as that number of conversions is stable. I’d start with a tCPA that’s about 20% higher than what you’re currently averaging. Give it a few weeks to settle and then lower it down to your actual target. Note: if that target is lower than what you’re currently getting you should expect to lose some volume and won’t spend your full budget.
