GuestSeptember 20, 2024 at 4:09 pmDepends on how fresh or old the account is, the set up by previous account managers, etc. I usually tend to do this weekly on average, but sometimes when I implement new keywords or start a new account it becomes daily to build an account negative keyword list. I don’t use AI and I just try to put negatives that aren’t high intent.

GuestSeptember 20, 2024 at 4:34 pmI would always look after the keywords of those who have more than 3,4 clicks. And I do search term reports bi weekly.

GuestSeptember 20, 2024 at 4:34 pmI use a few scripts which look at the problem from different angles.
Some will focus on my cream of the crop terms, which I’ll check once a week.
Others look at trends.
Others auto-negate if they don’t contain certain words e.g. if you sell “iphone cases” you probably want “case” in the search term.
AI: I’m working on an AI script for a client right now which checks the location in the search term. It’s good at spotting if the location is near where the service is rendered. Otherwise, I haven’t had much luck. It would have to check every single search term which could get expensive. Of course it could be worth it depending on your niche.

Scripts can help with this, Scripts that add search terms as a negative after 0 conversions after a set number of date is the main one I use.
The rest is me in Excel.

GuestSeptember 21, 2024 at 10:36 pmThe frequency is entirely dependent on activity volume for your keywords.
Under 1000 clicks a week – do it maybe once a week.
1001 to 5000 clicks /wk – probably do it twice a week.
These are ballpark estimates, nothing serious.
Higher activity volume means doing the task more frequently.
