GuestSeptember 2, 2024 at 1:21 pmIf you are only running search campaigns on a shoestring budget then, unfortunately, not much you can do on a daily basis except trying different ad texts, adding negative keywords, trying different bid strategies, adding new keywords, adding new adgroups etc.
But there is a lot you can do as far as learning is concerned – there are tons of videos/blogs/articles that you can subscribe, study and follow to to enhance your PPC skills. Google ads is not just creating campaigns, adding keywords and ad text, there is other side to it – i call it the technical aspect that includes:
Mastering conversion tracking, not just form fills on the thank you page but also learning how to implement call tracking correctly, setting up revenue tracking for ecommerce stores in google/GA4/GTM…there are tons of things if learning is your goal. Learn about new types of insightful report you can create for clients. Know more about conversion rate optimization.
As you work in an agency I presume you should have access to some of the best paid tools available that can give you insights vis-a-vis competitors (though their numbers are not conclusive but you can still use them as a reference point. Use every penny they pay for the tools!
If you do nothing for 4 hours then sooner or later your agency is going to find that out I guess, if your supervisors know anything about PPC. So keep bringing up ideas (good ones, not just trash), actionable insights to impress them.
Summary- learn more on GA4, GTM and data studio, CRO and tons more.

GuestSeptember 2, 2024 at 4:57 pmSome times it’s slow some times not. I’d take that time.reading or getting certifications or smth. It’s paid work so I might as well put some effort in

GuestSeptember 2, 2024 at 4:58 pmI had someone in my team like this. If your managers have determined it’s enough for a full-time role, there are responsibilities being missed. If you are ticking off all the boxes, then use the time to upskill yourself and then increase your worn.

GuestSeptember 2, 2024 at 10:08 pmI had a similar experience when I first started my ppc career, ended up having to cut ties with the company due to poor management/toxicity. But this job requires a lot of creativity I didn’t expect when I first started. Like others have mentioned, get creative and start testing new approaches. A/B test over and over again with different areas to maximize your efficiency within the accounts

GuestSeptember 2, 2024 at 11:03 pmSkill up! Study a course! Either related to PPC campaigns you’re running (I.e. building dashboards) or the wider digital marketing (attribution, pipeline etc).
You’re in the perfect position to learn on some else’s money. Run wild experiments (never more than 20% of budget though).
Or you could just watch films. Or get a 2nd remote job 😂 -
