  • How do you get started from scratch on Twitter(or Threads) from absolutely zero views & followers?

Genuine question: How do you start from scratch at Twitter(or Threads) and just get views? Stuck at 0 views.

    Question in title.

I admit, it's half a rant, but I'm genuinely looking for answers.

On other platforms, you at least get a small push from the platform itself, and then you get pushed further if your content does well. How do you start from scratch in Twitter and simply just get out of 0 views?

In Reddit, people browse by "new", and there's a chance for you to go to "Trending" if your content is good.

In TikTok/YT shorts, they push your content to a small group of people first before pushing it even further if it does well.

In Twitter, it feels like you're completely at the mercy of the platform on whether they show it to even one person. Commenting on other people's posts constantly for the returns of someone even taking note of your account feels extremely grindy. In the comments section, the main character is the comment itself, rarely the account who commented.

My question revolves around just getting anyone random to simply view my posts, not getting followers, not getting a huge amount of likes/views, it's just:

With an account completely from scratch, how do you get just one person(that's not yourself) to view your post?

P.S. I'm not sure about Threads, as they don't seem to give info on how many people they show your posts to, but in Threads it seems like it's still more possible to gain a tiny bit of traction.

    Extra:
In YouTube, you can rely on keyword search, and through funneling views from other platforms as well to get you started.

Comment on others posts. Make it meaningful, ask a question.
Quote popular posts and add something to it.

    Rinse and repeat.

    FOR TWITTER

so last year i followed a simple process (already tried and tested by the giants) that gained one of my friends around 800 followers in like 27/28 days when he started getting serious about building a personal brand. he was just a random dude obsessed with twitter.

one day me and him for some reason decide to build his personal brand. it’s like 6-7 months ago last year i don’t exactly remember. what we did was to write threads. a lot of them. on topics that he was interested in. basically created valuable threads.

you can only build a personal brand if you either educate people or entertain people. we tried doing only educating part because that was easier. and ended up creating around 20 threads and posting those threads almost every day.

mind you that we also bought the twitter premium, because it helps a lot to reach maximum audience even if you have single or double-digit follower count. the theory behind writing threads to build a personal brand is simple – you get high engagement on threads.

people stay longer and you get higher engagement. we obviously took help of AI to write those threads but of course if you’re not writing valuable stuff, people are not gonna follow you. so the goal was to first write valuable stuff.

after this we just used to put those threads in replies of other big giants and also used to comment under them to get some reach regularly. we did with the same about 20 accounts we chose within our niche and then doubled down on what worked.

    so just three things:

    1. create threads on your interests. if you can’t create threads on your interests, do that on things that happened in your life. and if you can’t even do that also, create threads on whatever valuable stuff you come across. read a book? make a thread of ‘i read a book. and here’s the summary of that book. a thread 🧵”. simple. same with if you watched a podcast. make a thread out of it. same with a youtube video. or a audiobook. or anything that you saw in real life. you can literally create threads on anything. you just have to make a valuable to read.
    2. comment under the giants. quote tweet them. retweet them. this engagement technique is very powerful ngl. it accelerates things even if anyone finds it cringe. won’t work if you engage with stupid stuff. only valuable engagement works so keep that in mind.
    3. do that everyday. you can write a thread per week. but you have to keep commenting or engaging with others every single day.

want me to do that for you? send a dm.

Be involved with as many social platforms as you can. Discord is also an interesting platform to explore. Join creator communities or fandoms you are passionate about. Build friendships and you can make your base from that.

I have been on Twitter since 2012, and even though it is a relatively dying platform, Twitter always was and has been a “grinding” type of platform when it comes to growing a follower base. It is not a place where growth of followers should be your focus. Your focus should be on the valuable contributions to conversations, and communities.

With that being said, you can build a following on your stronger platforms like Youtube, IG, TikTok, etc, and then direct them to your twitter. But, what value are you providing on Twitter that will cause people to want to follow you on Twitter?

Engage with other people’s content, like commenting.
Also make valuable posts on your account, like questions, polls, educative content etc. you’ll notice an improvement

Something that helps a lot is being authentic and original, developing your own voice and style, and sharing unique opinions and perspectives. Good luck!
