How do you get lots of followers on Instagram?
Hey! I'm a Social Media Manager and one of my clients wants to have 10k followers end of the year. We have always been gaining followers organically. And 10k followers I think is hard, I can't do it fast. Currently, we have 2k. Any tips?

Post A LOT. Minimum of 2x a day. Look at similar accounts and follow the trends. Use trending music. Do a variety of content so you can find out what type of video is going to take off. If you need help, let me know. I’m looking for a job in social media lol

Unreasonable request-unless they plan to spend a few thousand on a well crafted ad campaign!
Currently on Instagram the best way to attract new followers is with Reels.
If you have a large team producing an insane amount of content, with a knack for engaging Reels, maybe.
Otherwise, find a style of Reel that resonates with your audience and grow from there.

idk if it’s a secret or not but i notice a lot of ppl do this. Use viral reels hooks and mid way sudden transition into your content. Very high chance of these reels go viral and don’t forget cta!

People have already said similar but I say to clients think of the three C’s: content, consistency and community.
Create content (short form video being best on Instagram at the moment) that provides value to your clients audience. You’ve got less than 3 seconds to grab someone so hooks are important and making it super clear straight off the bat on what’s in it for them.
As people have said – be consistent. Sure, two posts a day is ideal BUT this will obvs depend a lot on resource available to you to create that much content. Instead I’d say create a strategy that’s realistic to start with – If your client is currently posting 3 x a week, first aim to up that to 5 and assess from there. Better to be consistent so your audience knows what to expect from the channel than go all guns blazing with 3 posts a day for a month then not be able to maintain that.
Community is important and one a lot of people overlook. They’ll post their content and then think “woo job done” but your team/your client needs to be actively engaging with your audience, promptly responding to comments etc. That way your audience feel valued and are more likely to stick around. I’d rather a client have 5k engaged followers than 10k that never engage with the content or convert into the behaviour your client wants.
Also, really track your content analytics to analyse what’s performing/what isn’t to spot performance trends in what you’re putting out there and then you can adapt your strategy to most effectively use the resource available to you to create more content that resonates with your audience.
Finally – as you say, organic growth will be slow. If they’ve got budget for paid then that will be a key component.

Using my recent experience in social media management, I see that educational videos with some fun tips are going viral on Instagram, you can use this type of content and you will make more than 10k by the end of the year.

There are some people that would suggest buying followers, I am going to discourage you from doing that because it will mess up your account. It is best to grow your followers organically by posting high quality content and participating in other people’s pages.

They should allot some funds to pay theme pages in their niche to post their content

How many followers do you currently have? If you have a sizable amount, it can be doable within at least 3 months, even. As someone else said, consistent posting helps, as well as lots of video/reel content and putting in some money for ad spending. Those definitely help in getting your profile seen to your target demos.
