  • How do you approach blog outreach?

Currently writing some really great (albeit, time-consuming articles) about a niche keyword. I’m now turning my attention to how do we start blog outreach for the purpose of backlinks… I’ve seen some approaches where people suggest assessing your competitor’s backlinks and reaching out to those websites to get a post up.

However, what I constantly notice is that our competitors, largely use all PBN’s and I prefer not to use them, particularly as I’d rather pay for non-spammy sites that are actually legit…

So the question is, how do you approach blog outreach for the purpose of backlinks?

If you don’t have a budget prepare yourself for less than 0.1% conversion rate on cold outreach

I don’t approach others about this, but I get approached all the time so I can tell you what doesn’t work: generic requests that show absolutely no evidence of having read my blog. It’s always, “I love your blog” with no specific references indicating they’ve read anything at all. The one backlink request I accepted was from someone who actually showed they were familiar with my content.
